HISTORY
One of the great architectural treasures of Los Angeles, the Le Trianon at 1750-1754 North Serrano Avenue has become a distinctive and beloved Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1995. The 6-story, 26-unit French Chateau-style building is one of the most impressive designs of the legendary apartment house designer Leland A. Bryant. The construction of this castle-like French Chateau was commissioned in 1928 by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks who also lived in the luxury 2-story Penthouse B until their divorce in 1930s.
The Chateau Le Trianon is romantic in the extreme, a beautifully proportioned structure made all the more charming by a fantastic 3-story maisonette apartment with three bedrooms and three baths extending out from the main structure and creating an “L” framing the building’s expansive front terrace.
